Camping in Abruzzo… between Franciacorta wineries.

Staying in our campsite could happen to sleep in a bungalow Nebbiolo or in a mobile home Traminer. You may find yourself pitching your tent in “Via Franciacorta” or “Via Bellavista” or even make an appointment in “Piazza Guido Berlucchi.”
No, no, you are not drunk …this is what can happen when choosing a campground run by a sommelier from Brescia moved in Abruzzo but who never forgot her best passion: wine, preciseley.
These unusual names have doubtless marked our campsite where the sign to the “nectar of Bacchus” pops up steadily and with originality.

Not only bungalows and mobile homes with names related to the well-known national and international grape varieties but also a carefulness for details.
Hanging on the cabins walls there is a scroll providing useful information about the grape origin, the main grape-variety features and notes about the organoleptic characteristics; bungalows and mobile homes keys will be hand over to you in a cute keyring created with cork stoppers, the wall clocks of each cabin are made with covers of wooden wine boxes; the abat-jour are made using empty Franciacorta magnum bottles and the new cork trivets are a great hand made patchwork.

But wait! That’s not all. The camping streets of the Camping Village and  the numbers of the pitches for tents, campers/motorhomes and caravans are marked with the names of the main Franciacorta wineries
That kind of passion is contagious and involved the Staff of the campground too. The Staff is wearing T-shirt uniform with funny wine slogans. A tradition that began in 2008 with the T-shirt “If you love wine… follow me” and every year has a new wine slogan.
In 2009 happened to be accompanied to the cabin by a traminer, a merlot, a chardonnay or a pinot noir with pairing suggestions written on the back of each T-shirt.
“Walk now, wine later” was the T-shirt wine slogan for the year 2010.
2011 was the year of “group therapy” with the hard-hitting “Abruzzo wines are for lovers”. The slogan for the following year was: “Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Sophisticated, distinctive. Elegant yet approachable with a lingering finish “.

After the greeting “have a grape day” of 2013, it was the shift of the simple yet effective #winelover.
