Also this year, Roseto degli Abruzzi wins the 2024 Pediatrician’s Green Flag, along with other 146 Italian coastal towns. This important recognition awards seaside locations with child-friendly services selected through a survey conducted by pediatricians.
What are the fundamental rules for achieving such a goal? Clear water near the shore, fine sand ideal to play in and, most importantly, the watchful presence of lifeguards. Additionally, play areas providing child care equipment are fundamental, as well as the presence of bars and restaurants nearby. In 2024 the number of ‘Green Flags’ selected by paediatricians rised to 155 (one more than last year) – eight are abroad.
Eleven Green Flags were assigned to Abruzzo this year and is considered the ‘greenest’ region in Italy with the highest density of green flags, one every 11.8 km, followed by Emilia-Romagna (one every 13.5 km) and Marche (one every 13.8 km).
This is testimony to the great attention this city pays to important issues such as environment, tourism and the increasing quality of services.
A source of pride for all citizens of the beautiful city of Roseto, which is once again at the forefront of seaside life excellence also with its Blue Flag.
